The R-1120 was Luxman’s top of the line receiver from 1976 to 1979. It had a retail price of $995.
In my opinion, this is the most attractive receiver of this era. 120 watts per channel. 4 gang tuner and a published frequency response of 15Hz-70kHz (-1dB).
I replaced all the electrolytic capacitors, set the bias and DC offset but I just was never impressed with the sound of it. Not that it sounded bad, I think my expectations were too high or it may have just been that the rest of my set up wasn’t a good match, I don’t know.
